NXT 161

March 20, 2013 – Winter Park, Florida

Leo Kruger def. Justin Gabriel
This was pretty boring. Move-rest-rinse-repeat. And now that they’re 1-1 I assume we’ll be subject to a rubber match. **

William Regal gets in the ring to apologize for hitting Kassius Ohno last week. He warns Ohno that being a heel for years in your career causes sleepless nights and thinks Ohno can do better. He wants to shake hands and bury the hatchet. Ohno rejects Regal, saying he wants a better career than Regal had. Regal knocks Ohno down again and feels immediately shitty about it. Ohno’s motivations are now obviously whiney and petulant, not conniving, which is lame.

Paige def. Bayley
Pretty shocked that Bayley debuted before Charlotte Flair. I’m not going to call this a squash because I want to rate Bayley’s first televised match and because she actually controlled most of it. *¾

Luke Harper def. Adrian Neville
This was finally starting to pick up (it felt so long) when the crappy finish kicked in. I have this vague memory of seeing a good match between these two years ago, but this wasn’t that. Oliver Gray tries to save Neville from a post match bearing but fails. Dallas evens the odds and the good guys come out on top. **¼
