NXT 251

November 27, 2014 – Winter Park, Florida

Tyler Breeze def. Marcus Louis
NXT experiments with the no-entrance-music thing here, which they’d perfect with Tommaso Ciampa years later. This wasn’t really a match, but Breeze’s brutal promo (and dry heaves) on Louis was pretty funny. Apologies to anyone with alopecia who might ever read this. Louis seems to complete his mental break after the match. N/A

Carmella def. Blue Pants
Somehow the crowd knew that Blue Pants would be Carmella’s opponent. What am I missing here? This lasted about 30 seconds. N/A

Sin Cara & Kalisto def. Jason Jordan & Tye Dillinger
Renee Young is on damage control, backtracking all the gross stuff she said about the mini luchadores last week. Jason Albert gets a good line in, pointing out that Dillinger mocking Cara by bowing at him is dumb on a couple levels. This was all Jordan & Dillinger in control and boring until the Lucha Dragons got to be exciting for 20 seconds at the end. *½

Kevin Steen is now Kevin Owens, and he’s going to change everything at Takeover: R Evolution.

Bayley comes out to let us know that she’s not afraid of Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, even though Charlotte has the week off and won’t be watching her back. Then, Banks and Lynch beat the crap out of her and nobody makes the save. So now they’re just rehashing the Hideo Itami angle with Bayley, after rehashing the BFF angle to get here. Banks will fight Charlotte at Takeover, so it’s a good thing this angle centers on Bayley.

Finn Balor def. Tyson Kidd
I’m not that interested in the ballad of Kidd and Natalya, and this was much more about that than it was about anything involving Balor. And the Ascension attacks and Balor wins by disqualification. Itami runs in to make the save. They fight until the show goes off the air and who cares, this was disappointing. **½
