NXT 275

April 29, 2015 – Winter Park, Florida

Kevin Owens calls out Sami Zayn to start the show. William Regal comes out instead, followed by Zayn. Regal makes a title match for the upcoming Takeover show in three weeks. Owens wants the fight but refuses to defend the title. Zayn says that everything Owens has done in his career has had Zayn’s name attached to it, and if he wants to beat Zayn and put that to bed, he’ll put up the title. Owens bugs out and agrees to the title match. This felt totally out of place in this feud and totally out of character for Owens.

Carmella and her boys get into a tiff and she asks for some alone time. Blake & Murphy approach her and try to get their number in her phone, but she blows them off. They back off but Alexa Bliss comes up and tells Carmella off. Carmella slaps Bliss and walk off, but Bliss is consoled by Blake & Murphy.

As Zayn signs his title match contract, Alex Riley runs in and begs Regal for another shot at Owens. Regal tells him no, and that he’s starting to act crazy. Zayn tries to commiserate Riley over how crazy Owens can make a person. Riley snaps at him, so now these two will fight.

Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady def. Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy
Blake & Murphy got distracted by Carmella and squished by Cass. This was like 3 minutes long, and just there to give us a reason to finally book a match between the two teams at Takeover. *½

Dana Brooke def. Bayley
Bayley couldn’t find her headband before the match. As Bayley is about to win, Emma runs out using Bayley’s music, wearing her t-shirt and her headband. That distracts Bayley and Brooke wins. Whatever. *

Hideo Itami def. Adam Rose
Rosebud sighting: No Way Jose. Before the match, Regal announces a triple threat number one contender match for Takeover featuring Itami, Tyler Breeze, and Finn Balor. Sigh, think of what could have been. Rose does nothing for me outside of his entrance, but at least this was short. *

Becky Lynch def. Sarah Dobson
I don’t review squashes. N/A

Sami Zayn nc. Alex Riley
This was actually Riley’s best match in this run on NXT (not saying a ton) before Owens gets involved by attacking Zayn and powerbombing Riley on the ring apron. **½
