NXT 295

September 2, 2015 – Winter Park, Florida

Baron Corbin & Rhyno def. Konnor & Viktor {First Round Match}
All four of these guys have squashed scores of people, and now I had to sit through a match that felt like an eternity between them? This wasn’t as boring as I thought it’d be, but if you think the Ascension got markedly better you are wrong. At least this was short. *½

Alexa Bliss def. Blue Pants
This was real punchy-kicky, short, and unmemorable. It seems like Blue Pants fever reached its peak at Takeover. Might be time to put a fork in the gimmick so we can all remember it fondly. *¾

Tyler Breeze interrupts Regal while he’s trying to sign Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa. Breeze says Regal came through when he wanted an important opponent at Takeover, but now he needs an important partner in the Dusty Classic. Breeze and his partner will face Gargano & Ciampa in the tournament. But the partner is Bull Dempsey.

Apollo Crews def. Martin Stone
Squashes are too easy for Crews. N/A

Eva Marie def. Billie Kay
This was a stinker. Marie did her mean seated abdominal stretch bit twice, and then she forgot to kick out for a near fall. The crowd totally turned on the match after that, and if I’m NXT I turn that into an angle in which the referees are so attracted to her that they cheat for her. My guess is that won’t happen. ½*

You know Mojo Rawley is the most annoying person on the planet when his whole bit forces Enzo Amore’s energy to come down.

Chad Gable & Jason Jordan def. Neville & Solomon Crowe {First Round Match}
This was a lot of fun. Everyone came to deliver, and the match moved a mile a minute as a result. The heat segment on Crowe was a little dull and the finish felt tacked on, but everything else was balls to the wall action. One of the more enjoyable matches featuring Crowe for sure. ***½
