NXT 330

April 13, 2016 – Dallas, Texas

Austin Aries def. Angelo Dawkins
The crowd is not interested in this version of Dawkins any more than they were interested in any previous versions of him, and they were totally silent for this match because he controlled so much of it. *¾

Alexa Bliss def. Tessa Blanchard
Maybe it wasn’t Dawkins killing the Texas crowd after all, they seem to be dead for everything. This was pretty bad, made worse by the white noise that came through instead of cheers or boos. ¾*

Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa def. Aiden English & Simon Gotch
Gargano and Ciampa woke the crowd up a bit here, but they had to hit suicide dives and cannonballs to the floor to do it. This crowd sucks. This match was alright. **½

Baron Corbin def. Tucker Knight
I thought I was done with Corbin! Unlike Sami Zayn, I guess he couldn’t be allowed to move on if his last match was a loss. Lame. Lame and unnecessary. N/A

Jason Jordan & Chad Gable were basking in their title win in the empty arena in which they won them last week. Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady approached them and asked for a match against them. It doens’t even have to be for the titles. This is being set up to be Enzo & Cass’ farewell match from NXT. That will happen next week.

Bayley def. Liv Morgan
The crowd is here for Bayley, which counts for something. The funny thing about Morgan is that she has some bad indy wrestler tendencies, but I’m pretty sure she’s a homegrown WWE Performance Center product. Either way, it was refreshing to have the crowd react to something on this show, even if it was just this brief little thing. *½

Shinsuke Nakamura def. Tye Dillinger
Dillinger has starting giving rating cards to people he encounters backstage. Funny bit. In another funny moment, the crowd gets off their asses to let Dillinger know that Nakamura is an 11. They do a lot of mocking each other, which makes me remember that period of time when Dillinger would bow at the Lucha Dragons to insult them. Thankfully, his mannerisms toward Nakamura are specific to the King of Strong Style. The match as a whole was cute, and probably could have used a bit more time to make it feel like an actual main event. **¾
